330 citations issued, 12 cars seized

KUWAIT CITY, July 6: Capital Governorate traffic officers launched a massive campaign Sunday along the Arabian Gulf Road, resulting in the issuance of 330 traffic citations and impounding of 12 vehicles.
The officers called on the public to strictly comply with traffic regulations, not only for their safety but also that of other motorists. They added the security authorities will continue carrying out such campaigns to protect the public.

Indian attempts suicide: A 39-year-old Indian worker suffered from serious injuries when she fell from a building in a private university in Salmiya after drinking a cleaning substance recently, in attempt to end her own life.
Securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location immediately after the Operations Room received information on the incident. She is now confined at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital.
A case was registered and investigations are in progress to determine the actual circumstances that prompted the Indian to try to commit suicide.

Two hurt in fight: Two Kuwaitis, in their 20s, sustained injuries in different parts of their bodies after engaging in a fistfight with five persons at the Central Jail Sunday.
Securitymen quickly pacified the feuding parties and took the injured to the Central Jail Hospital. The other men were referred to the concerned authorities for investigation. The security officers are also waiting until the health condition of the two Kuwaitis improves before interrogating them to determine the actual circumstances, which led to the fight.

6 bikes stolen: A Kuwaiti, in his 30s, lodged a complaint against unidentified persons who allegedly stole his six motorbikes in Kabad Sunday.
According to the complainant, he was surprised when he entered his animal pen in Kabad as the six motorbikes were missing. Securitymen lifted fingerprints from the scene to identify the culprits.
A case was registered and police have intensified the search efforts to arrest the thieves.

Thief caught red-handed: A 19-year-old Kuwaiti was caught in the act of trying to steal a vehicle parked in front of chalet in Khiran Sunday.
Sources revealed three Kuwaitis, who saw their young compatriot while he was trying to steal the vehicle, immediately reported the incident to police. One of the Kuwaitis said he was on his way out of the chalet when he noticed the suspicious behavior of the teenager. He then called his two friends and they managed to catch the thief.
Police rushed to the scene right after receiving information on the incident. The three Kuwaitis handed over the youth to the securitymen for the necessary legal action.

School computers stolen: Some unidentified persons broke into a school in Doha and carted away four computers Sunday.
Security sources disclosed the Egyptian guard of the school called police after noticing the computers were missing. He told police he was checking the school premises as part of his daily duties when he saw the door of the computer room was broken. He went inside to check the contents and he discovered the thieves took four computers.
Criminal Evidence Department personnel lifted fingerprints to identify the thieves. Investigations are in progress to arrest the culprits.
