1,047 men, 385 women detained at Deportation Center Motorist runs over, kills 13-year-old GCC citizen

KUWAIT CITY, July 4: One thousand and forty-seven men and 385 women are being held at the Deportation Center waiting deportation from the country, reports Alam Alyawm daily quoting reliable sources.
These people are waiting for completion of documents, the daily added.
The daily added 272,789 people have been deported from the country over an 11-year period from June 9, 1999 until June 26, 2010.
These include 159,443 men, 102,751 women and 10,595 dependents.

Murder suspected: Police are investigating the death of an Indonesian woman who allegedly fell to her death from the third floor of an apartment, reports Al-Shahed daily.
Acting on information police rushed to the spot but could not get into the apartment because the door was locked from inside. Police then tried to call the victim’s Sri Lankan husband but did not get any response.
The remains of the victim have been referred to Forensics. Police have not ruled out murder. Investigations are continuing.

Indian found dead: The remains of an unidentified 52-year-old Indian man who was found dead inside his apartment in Hawalli have been referred to Forensics, reports Al-Qabas daily. According to security sources no trace of violence has been found on the body of the victim. However, police are investigating the man’s death.

Policewomen harassed: Police have arrested 11 Kuwaiti youths for harassing female police officers who were on duty in commercial complexes, reports Al-Anba daily.
The youths have been referred to the Criminal Investigation Department. It has been reported the police women were on duty at the commercial malls for the first time.

Dud cheques issued: Police are looking for an Egyptian man for issuing two dud cheques worth KD 95,000 to a Kuwaiti man, reports Al-Shahed daily.
In another unrelated incident, a Kuwaiti man has filed a complaint with the police accusing a foodstuff company of issuing a dud cheque for KD 6,700.

Bootlegger nabbed: Acting on information and armed with a search and arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecution, police raided an apartment in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and arrested an Asian man for manufacturing booze, reports Al-Qabas daily.
Police have allegedly seized from the man 38 plastic containers filled with the brew, 32 bottles of booze ready for sale in addition to liquor manufacturing equipment.
The booze and the suspect have been referred to the authorities.

Motorist runs over, kills 13-year-old GCC citizen : A 13-year-old GCC national succumbed to serious head injury and additional fractures he sustained in the feet and hands, after a motorist knocked him down at a location between Naim and Taima areas.
Paramedics, with securitymen, rushed to the scene when the Operations Room received a distress call about the accident. However, paramedics pronounced the teenager had already died, after they examined the body and the corpse was referred to the Forensics by Criminal Evidences Men. According to eyewitness account, the motorist saw the victim crossing the road suddenly, and he couldn’t avoid hitting him. The case was registered for investigation.
In another incident, two Kuwaitis in their 20s were injured when their cars collided and overturned on Fahaheel Motorway. The injured citizens were referred to the Adan Hospital by Medical Emergency Men for treatment.
Three Kuwaiti women in their 20s, 30s and 60s respectively, sustained various degrees of injuries during an accident on the Fahaheel Motorway. They were also sent to the Adan Hospital by paramedics for medical care. Meanwhile, a 21-year old Yemeni expatriate was injured in several places of the body during a traffic accident in Rumaithiya. Medical Emergency Men carried the man to Mubarak Hospital for treatment.
In yet another incident, a Pakistani expatriate in his 20s, and an Egyptian in his 40s, were injured when their cars crashed on the Fahaheel Motorway. Paramedics referred the injured men to Mubarak Hospital for treatment.
An Indian expatriate, about 44 years old, sustained injuries in various parts of the body during a two-vehicle collision accident in Farwaniya. He was rushed to the Farwaniya Hospital by paramedics for emergency treatment.
In another story, 36-year old Egyptian man was injured after smashing his vehicle into another vehicle in Mubarakiya, toward Kuwait City. The man was sent to Al-Sabah Hospital by paramedics for medical care.
And, a Kuwaiti citizen in his 20s sustained serious injury during a traffic accident on the Fourth Ring Road, opposite Qairawan. He is receiving treatment at the Sabah Hospital, thanks to paramedics who arrived at the scene shortly after the accident.
