Fearing harm man seeks deportation of drug addict brother Bangladeshi & Iraqi drug peddlers caught
KUWAIT CITY, July 4: A GCC citizen through the Al-Anba daily has requested the Ministry of Interior to deport his brother from the country because he is a drug addict and has threatened to kill members of his family.
The man added his brother is remanded to police custody for 21 days in connection with an unidentified crime. He fears the man will harm his family after his release.
Iraqi held in drug peddling : An Iraqi expatriate trafficking in drugs was apprehended by securitymen, following a tip-off the Director General of the Anti-drug General Department, Major General Ahmad Al-Khalifa, received about his activities.
Security sources said a team of detectives was formed to arrest the man, whereas an undercover officer lured the suspect into selling 50 grams of heroin. The officer used marked currency to pay for the drug, so the suspect was arrested immediately after the transaction.
During interrogation, the man admitted to harboring a quantity of the contraband inside his home in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, and then officers rushed to the house where they found an additional 200 grams of heroin.
The suspect again confessed that he received heroin from relatives visiting from Iraq, while he sold 750 grams of the total 1kilogram of heroin they supplied.
Meanwhile, based on information the Director General of Abdalli Customs Department, Mubarak Al-Qattan, received about a Bangladeshi heavy duty driver planning to smuggle drugs into the country, security officers at the border exit intensified search inside his vehicle and found 10,000 narcotic pills, carefully hidden in the gear box. He confessed to the crime, while the officers referred him to the concerned authority for prosecution.
Also A Bangladeshi trucker was caught at the Abdali border with 10,000 narcotic pills. The trucker was
planning to smuggle the drugs into Kuwait.
Car stolen, set alight: Police are looking for an unidentified person for stealing the car of an unidentified Iranian man and setting it ablaze, reports Al-Shahed daily.
In his complaint to the police, the Iranian said the car went missing from the Fahaheel Industrial Area.
The charred remains of the car were found in an open place in Umm Al-Haiman.
