Police arrest 12 youths for harassing women Jewelry worth 2,800 stolen

KUWAIT CITY, July 2: The Hawalli police have arrested 12 youths for harassing women, playing loud music in their cars and making indecent gestures at passersby, reports Al-Anba daily.
This happened during a security campaign in the Hawalli governorate in places such as Nugra, Salmiya and Hawalli.
According to reports one of the arrested youth threatened police and said he has connections in high places to get him demoted. However, all those arrested have been referred to the Salmiya Police Station. The youth who threatened the police has been charged with issuing threats to a police officer while doing his duty.

Jewelry worth 2,800 stolen: A 30-year-old Kuwaiti man filed a complaint at Rabiya Police Station, saying jewelry worth KD 2,800 was stolen from his house while he was abroad with his family. The complainant said he returned back Thursday and noticed that the safe was broken.
Securitymen and Criminal Evidence Department officials immediately rushed to the house and lifted fingerprints from the scene. Investigations are going on.

Syrian assaults Indian: An Indian man, whose identity has not been disclosed, has filed a complaint with the police accusing a Syrian man of beating him, reports Al-Anba daily.
The Indian man has submitted a medical report showing fracture in the nose.
When police summoned the Syrian he said he requested the Indian to install the Al-Jazeera Satellite Channel because he wanted to see the World Cup football matches. He claims the Indian damaged the card and when he discovered the fault, he called the Indian but he refused to come.
So he went to the shop and argued with the Indian and both men ended up beating each other. The Syrian has also submitted a medical report. He claims he acted in self defense.

Bangladeshi mugged: Police are looking for a number of youths for beating a Bangladeshi man, who is believed to be in his 40s, near the Sabit Bin Qais School in Sulaibiya and stealing his wallet containing an unidentified sum of money and his cell phone, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
The daily added police acting on information rushed to the spot and found the Bangladeshi bleeding. He had cuts on the head, arms and left thigh. He was allegedly stabbed with a sharp object. The man has been admitted to the Farwaniya Hospital.

Citizen held for drugs: The Hawalli police have arrested a Kuwaiti man for possessing hashish. He was arrested on Baghdad Street in Salmiya, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
According to security sources police ordered the man to pull over because he looked nervous when a police patrol passed by.
However, the man instead stepped on the gas pedal and tried in vain to escape. Police chased and arrested him and seized from him the drugs.
It has been reported at the time of arrested he was under the influence of drugs. He has been referred to General Department for Drug Control.
