Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones
WE definitely miss the full moon during dark nights. Undoubtedly, the National Assembly has had numerous dark nights due to its endless disagreements with the government.
Some people in the government, who previously behaved like an ostrich, have started adopting a new attitude. They used to bury their heads in the sand whenever a lawmaker issues a statement on any civil society institution. They had trembled with fear even if the statements were pointless. They panicked when lawmakers threatened to submit a grilling request against them.
We witnessed this new attitude when Kuwait Investment Company Board Chairman Bader Al-Subaie responded to the accusations of MP Musallam Al-Barrak. He issued a powerful statement, refuting the allegations of the lawmaker. He conveyed a clear message that anyone who does not steal is not afraid of anything. At the time, we realized the executive authority has finally taken a strong stand to stop the legislature from interfering in its affairs.
Minister of Finance Mustafa Al-Shamali has also taken a courageous step to face the attacks of those who want to deplete the national coffers. This is a clear manifestation of the executive authority’s success in overcoming certain weaknesses. Forgive us!
