Juveniles bid to kidnap maid foiled
KUWAIT CITY, June 30: Police have arrested three juveniles for attempting to kidnap an Asian housemaid in Taima, Jahra, reports Al-Rai daily.
It has been reported the juveniles attacked the maid when she came out of the house of her sponsor to dump garbage in a bin across the road.
The juveniles reportedly escaped on foot when the maid screamed for help. The sponsor who happened to be watching from the window of his apartment recognized the suspects and filed a complaint against them.
They have been referred to the authorities.
Kuwaiti dies in mishap: A 32-year-old Kuwaiti man, whose identity has not been disclosed, allegedly died in a traffic accident in Salmi, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The cause of the accident is not known but the victim allegedly died on the spot when his car overturned.
Youth held with dagger: Police have arrested an unidentified youth and referred him to a police station for carrying a dagger while walking on a public road, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to reports Sheikha Fariha Al-Ahmad was driving in the area and she saw the youth carrying a dagger.
She immediately called the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior for fear the youth may harm somebody.
Police rushed to the spot and took the youth into custody.
Mangaf diesel thieves held: Police have arrested two Asians for stealing diesel from trucks in Mangaf, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to sources the thieves were caught red-handed by a police patrol while stealing diesel from a parked truck.
Police have seized from them five canisters containing 20 liters each of diesel and referred them to the authorities.
During interrogation the thieves said they have been stealing diesel for the past two years and selling it to truckers at a low price.
