Kuwait's ‘Star Academy’ star swindled by Egyptian

 KUWAIT CITY, June 28: Kuwait ‘Star Academy’ star Ibrahim Dashti has filed a complaint with the police accusing an Egyptian director of fraud and betrayal of trust, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
In his complaint Dashti said he agreed with the director to make a video clip and paid him money to pay the technicians and people taking part in the clip, but the director is said to have paid the workers only 50 percent of their dues.

Heroin ‘retrieved’ from Afghan smuggler: Operatives from the Drug Control General Department (DCGD) have foiled the attempt of an Afghan to smuggle 500 grams of pure heroin into the country.
Acting on information that an Afghan man intends to smuggle pure heroin into the country, DCGD Chairperson Major General Sheikh Ahmad Al-Khalifa formed a team to arrest the suspect. Security sources revealed an assistant undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior has obtained information from a reliable source that an Afghan is due to arrive in Kuwait with five kilograms of pure heroin worth KD 250,000 in his possession. According to the informant, the suspect put the pure heroin in capsules which he swallowed to avoid detection at the port of entry.
The anti-narcotics officers immediately coordinated with the International Anti-Narcotics Department, which is headed by Lieutenant Colonel Yousef Al-Khaldi, to make the necessary arrangements to arrest the suspect upon his arrival in Kuwait. When the suspect arrived at the port of entry, the officers arrested him and took him to a nearby hospital to remove the capsules from his intestines.
During interrogations, the suspect admitted the crime and told the officers that a drug mafia in his home country has purchased the passport of another Afghan, who has a valid residence in Kuwait, and then they put his picture. He used the passport to enter the country and smuggle pure heroin for distribution to drug dealers and users.
A case was registered and the suspect was referred to the relevant security department for prosecution.

Man in ladies salon: Police have arrested an Arab man for entering a ladies beauty salon in Salmiya, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
It has been reported when the owner ‘kicked’ the man out of the salon and called police he was found inside his car in the saloon’s parking lot.
The man has been referred to the authorities.

Sharq garages raided: The Kuwait Municipality during a surprise inspection campaign in the Sharq Industrial Area is said to have shut down a garage because it was used as a room to store juices and tea packets, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
During the campaign the Municipality personnel are said to have issued 22 citations against shops and garages for putting up hoardings but not conducting any business.

Bees scare shopowners: Bees have reportedly found a save haven in one of the boys high school in Farwaniya, reports Al-Rai daily.
When the owners of nearby shops complained to the manager of the school for fear of being stung by the bees, the latter denied knowledge of the beehive but promised to do the needful.
Several days have passed and the manager has failed to keep his promise.

Bull gores Bangladeshi: A Bangladeshi farm guard who was attacked by a bull has been admitted to the intensive care unit of the Al-Sabah Hospital, reports Al-Dar daily.
According to hospital sources the bull ‘tore’ the man’s genitals with its horns.

Kuwaiti attempts suicide
: A Kuwaiti man who tried in vain to end his life has been admitted to a hospital, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to reliable sources the victim was saddened after hearing that his brother had died in Saudi Arabia. The brother was suffering from epilepsy.
