Sponsor catches maid, driver in the ‘act’
KUWAIT CITY, June 27: Police have arrested an Asian housemaid and a driver working for the same sponsor for having sex, reports Al-Anba daily.
It has been reported the suspects were caught red-handed by the Kuwaiti sponsor when he returned home unannounced.
A reliable source told the daily the sponsor favors the deportation of the suspects.
‘The car is mine’: A 32-year-old Canadian has filed a complaint with the Adan Police Station accusing a Kuwaiti woman of betrayal of trust, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The complainant said he gave his car to the woman when her car broke down but now she refuses to return the car.
Police tried to contact the woman but she refuses to answer.
Asian robbed: Police are looking for eight persons for assaulting an Asian man and stealing KD 300, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to a complaint filed by the victim, he was driving along a road. Suddenly eight men appeared on the road and they forced him to pull over.
Then they dragged him out of the car, beat him and stole his wallet and car and escaped.
The incident happened near the Amghara scrapyard.
Bootlegger nabbed: The Ahmadi police have arrested an Asian man for bootlegging, reports Al-Anba daily.
The suspect was caught in Mahboula in possession with 32 bottles of locally-manufactured booze. The contraband and the suspect have been referred to the authorities.
Doing drugs: The Farwaniya police have arrested a Kuwaiti military man working for the Ministry of Defence for consuming drugs, reports Annahar daily.
According to reports the man was arrested for reckless driving and when police approached him he looked disoriented. Police then searched him and seized from him a sachet of heroin.
Meanwhile, police are looking for unidentified persons for breaking into the cars of four Kuwaitis and stealing personal belongings including money, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
The incidents happened in Salmiya. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprits.
‘Unruly’ inmate: A Kuwaiti inmate of the Central Prison has been referred to the Public Prosecution for setting fire to his bed, reports Al-Anba daily.
It has been reported the inmate is serving a 15-year jail term for an unidentified offence. It has been reported he may be sent to solitary confinement for his misconduct.
Bomb defused: Acting on information bomb disposal experts rushed to a road leading to Wafra farms and detonated a bomb which was found by the roadside, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The bomb was found by a Kuwaiti owner of a farm. He informed the police and according to security sources the bomb was about to explode.
The bomb is believed to be remnant of ordnance left behind by the defeated Iraqi army in 1991.
