Maid absconding with sponsor’s KD 35,000 jewelry Bootlegger, illegals, stuntmen arrested in Ahmadi crackdown

KUWAIT CITY, June 24: The Ahmadi police during a security campaign in the area have arrested 49 people including 30 men for violating residence law, reports Al-Rai daily.
Among those arrested are a bootlegger and 18 youths who have been referred to a police station for reckless driving.
Police are said to have seized from the bootlegger 28 bottles of booze and referred him to the authorities.

Hunt for maid:
Police are looking for an unidentified Asian maid for allegedly stealing jewelry worth KD 35,000 from the home of her sponsor, reports Al-Rai daily.
In his complaint the sponsor said the jewelry was in the cupboard.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints from the scene of the crime.

Motorist nabbed
: The Ahmadi police have arrested an unidentified Kuwaiti man for running over a Bangladeshi man and escaping from the scene after committing the accident, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to reports the suspect after running over the victim went to a garage to repair his car in Ahmadi. Acting on information police rushed to the garage and arrested the motorist.
During interrogation he admitted to the charge. The victim has been admitted to the intensive care unit of a hospital.

Pakistani mugged: Police are looking for three people, believed to be citizens, for waylaying a Pakistani man and robbing his money, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to a complaint filed by the victim he was on his way to his shop. The trio stopped him, took him to an isolated place and demanded to see his civil ID.
The men then grabbed his wallet and stole his ATM card and threatened to harm him if he did not give his secret number. The men then went to a bank branch and stole KD 780.

Drunk driving: The Ahmadi police have arrested an unidentified Kuwaiti man for drinking alcohol, reports Arrouiah daily.
According to reports the man was ordered to pull over for reckless driving. However, when an officer walked up to the man to issue him a citation, he got the smell of alcohol from his mouth.
Police have seized from his car a bottle of Red Label whisky. He has been referred to the authorities.

Lewd messages: A Kuwaiti woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, has filed a complaint with the police accusing an unidentified person of sending her immoral messages, reports Arrouiah daily. In her complaint to the police the woman accused her tormentor of sending her lewd messages. The suspect has been arrested by police. However, police are interrogating him to find if he is the man who sent the messages.

Husband blamed: A Kuwaiti woman has filed a complaint with the police accusing her husband of threatening to cause her harm because she does not allow him time to see ‘their’ children outside the time allocated by a court ruling, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. Police have summoned the man for interrogation.

Fight with mechanic: Two men - a Syrian and a GCC citizen - have been referred to a police station for fighting in the public, exchanging accusations and verbally abusing each other, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to security sources the incident happened when the Syrian who owns a garage repaired the vehicle of the GCC citizen and they started arguing over the cost of repairs.
Acting on information police rushed to the scene and took the men to a police station.

Asians run over: A military man, whose identity has not been disclosed, has been referred for investigation for running over two Bangladeshis and injuring one of them seriously, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to reports the mishap happened when the military man was driving out of the Mina Abdullah gate with a cargo of iron.
During initial interrogation he claimed the brakes failed and the vehicle ran out of control.
