Girl flees abduction

KUWAIT CITY, June 24:  An Asian, in his 40s, lodged a complaint at Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Police Station against some Asians who allegedly tried to kidnap his 17-year-old daughter Tuesday.
According to the complainant, his daughter told him that the suspects tried to convince her to go with them but when she refused they attempted to take her by force.  Luckily, she managed to escape from them. 
The securitymen asked the daughter to give a detailed description of her supposed kidnappers.  Investigations are underway to verify the complaint.

Couple held drunk: Securitymen have arrested a 47-year-old Kuwaiti and his female companion for consuming alcohol, says Al-Seyassah.
While patrolling an area in Hawally, the securitymen noticed the erratic movement of a vehicle, so they signaled for the driver - a Kuwaiti - to pull over. When they approached the vehicle, they saw the confused state of the driver and his female companion, who were under the influence of alcohol. Police then searched the car thoroughly, resulting in the discovery of a bottle of imported liquor. The duo was referred to the concerned security department for the necessary legal action.

Brothers beat man: A Kuwaiti sustained multiple injuries after engaging in a public brawl with two other Kuwaitis in Andalus Wednesday.
Securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location soon after receiving information on the fight. The injured was referred to Farwaniya, while the other two Kuwaitis, who happen to be brothers, were taken to the nearest police station for interrogation.
Preliminary investigations revealed the trio had a heated argument over earlier disputes, prompting the brothers to gang up on the victim.

Flee bid foiled:
The Ahmadi police have arrested a citizen for colliding with a police patrol in the area and attempting to escape from the scene leaving behind his car, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Without going into details the daily said the man has been referred to the authorities.

Dept head probed: The head of the Payroll Division at the Kuwait University has been referred to the university’s interrogation department for disclosing secret information about university officials in violation of the university’s bylaws, reports Al-Shahed daily.
This happened when the director of the Financial Affairs Department asked the accused for information about a senior employee of the university.
However, the information was allegedly leaked to the employees, which caused embarrassment to the concerned person.

Missing with KD 270: Police are looking for an unidentified man for stealing KD 270 from his Kuwaiti employer, reports Arrouiah daily.
The victim is a director of a commercial institution and he allegedly gave the money to the suspect to deposit in the bank.
The latter is said to have escaped with the money.
