Daughters Residence Transfer from Father to Husband
I am on my father’s residence. I have been on my father’s residence even after marriage as my husband couldn’t sponsor me because his salary on the work permit was less. Now he has got his work permit changed to reflect a salary of KD250 and is ready to sponsor me. Will the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor create any problems while transferring the residence from the sponsor of father to husband.
Name withheld
Answer: First of all the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor is not involved in this transaction as dependent visas are solely under the jurisdiction of the General Department of Immigration.
The immigration department may ask why the residence has not been transferred to the husband but it normally doesn’t create any problems and lets such transactions go through.
