Huge crackdown on vice nets flesh traders, ‘clients’, illegals, wanted
KUWAIT CITY, June 21: Jahra securitymen arrested seven Asian women and two pimps after raiding a prostitution den in the governorate.
Acting on a tip-off, the director of Jahra Security Directorate formed a team of securitymen tasked to verify the information. After gathering enough evidence, the team raided an apartment, which was transformed into a prostitution den, resulting in the arrest of seven Asian women and two pimps.
During investigations, the securitymen discovered the sponsors of the arrested persons have filed absconding cases against them. They were referred to the concerned authorities for prosecution.
98 illegals held: During a crackdown on vice and residence law violators the Farwaniya police have arrested 98 people for violating residence laws, reports Al-Dar daily.
A police source said among the arrested people, 29 are prostitutes and 29 men who had gone to seek ‘fun’. Also arrested is a Bangladeshi man, who was caught red-handed trading in overseas calls illegally.
During the campaign, police have also arrested a Kuwaiti man. He was wanted by law in connection with several criminal offences. The daily added at the time of the arrest the man was high on alcohol.
Hiking water rates: Inspectors from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry have arrested seven water tanker drivers and referred them to the Commercial Prosecution for increasing the price of water from KD 4.750 to KD 7 per tank load of water, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The daily added the drivers were caught in Sulaibikhat.
Shop looted: Police are looking for an unidentified person who allegedly broke into a shop in Sabhan and escaped with a cell phone, a refrigerator and ten cartons of juice, reports Al-Shahed daily.
In other news police are looking for another person who broke into the home of a Kuwaiti man in Jahra and stole jewelry worth KD 400 and expensive watches, the daily added.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprits.
Safe stolen: Police are looking for unidentified persons who allegedly broke into a company and stole the safe containing KD 32,000, reports Al-Shahed daily.

The Public Prosecution has summoned a psychologist to ‘measure’ the mental abilities of the suspect who was on medication for the past two months with special emphasis on the influence the medication might have had on the suspect.
The psychologist had earlier said the psychological state of his patient was dangerous and he had even warned his mother that Sheikh Faisal was suffering from melancholy that may influence him to commit suicide.
Hunt for porter: Police are looking for a Bangladeshi porter working for an insurance company in Al-Rai for stealing KD 900 and revenue stamps worth KD 1,800 from the office of the accountant, reports Al-Shahed daily.

Car broken into: Police are looking for an unidentified burglar for breaking into the car of a Kuwaiti man and stealing KD 3,000, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
The theft occurred in front of the Al-Rawdah Cooperative Society. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprits.
