Visa transfer - "Sponsors must agree to release"
This is regarding the Arab Times article ‘Kuwait lifts restriction on second Article 18 transfers, sponsors must agree to release.’ I have the following questions:
1. I want to take a release from my current company, will the company give me a release before I complete 1 year? If company refuses can I get a release from the Shoun?
2. I have been working for this company for the past 6 months and I was locally transferred.
3. I have an open-ended contract with the current company.
4. I am not a graduate.
Name withheld
Answer: We have clearly stated that a release is essential to transfer if you have not completed one year with your new company. Secondly, Shoun (Ministry of Social Affairs & Labour) will not sanction your release if the company refuses to do so. Transfers have been made easy but the permission of your current company is essential.
