Police arrest expat in murder, burning corpse to erase clues
KUWAIT CITY, June 19: Jahra securitymen arrested an expatriate for killing the guard of a school in Al-Qairawan and setting fire to the corpse in order to eliminate all clues, reports Al-Qabas daily.
The suspect has earlier called police saying his friend committed suicide by burning himself, however forensic examination proved it was a murder.
The suspect then admitted to killing his friend after an argument on financial matters.
Women abducted: Jahra police broke into a molhaq (outhouse) in Jahra and arrested 4 Asians for kidnapping two Asian women and trying to push them into prostitution, reports Al-Rai daily.
Police referred the four Asians to the Criminal Investigation Department and freed the two women; however on realizing that the women were reported absconding, police referred them to authorities.
Drugs kill man: A Kuwaiti man in his 30s died after consuming an overdose of drugs, reports Al-Qabas daily.
The victim was found motionless on a jogging track in Jahra and police found drug consumption tools beside the body, which was later referred to forensics.
Youth drowns: A 24-year-old youth died while swimming in a beach in Bneid Gar, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The youth was rushed to Adan hospital, but was declared dead on arrival.
Breach of law: A back up force rushed to Farwaniya Police Station and arrested some men for attempting to break into the station to free a Kuwaiti man, reports Al-Rai daily.
A police source said a Kuwaiti was detained after insulting and attacking a police officer when the latter issued a traffic citation against him.
The Kuwaiti was sent to Farwaniya Police Station and 40 of his friends and relatives attempted to free him before the arrival of a back up force.
Booze on road: Police arrested an Indian expatriate for selling alcohol on a road and recovered 40 bottles of local brew from his possession in Firdous, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Police also caught three Asians for selling CDs containing pornographic materials in the area. All four men were referred to authorities.
4 held drunk: Police arrested four persons for consuming alcohol and recovered four bottles of alcohol from them, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The drunkards were traveling in a car in Hawalli and their reckless driving had aroused the suspicion of a police patrol on routine duty.
Jewelry stolen: A citizen filed a case at the Taima police station against thieves who raided his home in Al-Oyoun area and made away with jewelry worth KD 6,500. The man narrated he went out with his family for the weekend, and he was surprised when he came back and found the door to his house had been broke open, with the jewelry missing. The case has been registered, while the search for the thieves is ongoing.
Pigeons stolen: A Kuwaiti citizen filed a case against an unknown person who stole 13 unique pigeons worth KD 1,100. The man narrated he was surprised when he visited the pen and discovered the pigeons were missing. Police registered the case for investigation, while the search for the thief is ongoing.
Meanwhile, three Kuwaitis in their 30s and 40s respectively told police officers in Farwaniya that their cars were stolen.
A team of security personnel have since been formed to investigate the case and bring the suspects to justice. Three cases were registered.
Cars broken into: Securitymen from the Capital Governorate arrested three persons for stealing from cars in the parking lot of a beach on the Arabian Gulf Street, reports Al-Qabas daily.
The thieves were caught red-handed while attempting to break the window pane of a car. They later admitted to committing many such crimes in the area.
