Holy water … no booze! Woman escapes from being kidnapped

KUWAIT CITY, June 15: An Asian woman filed a case in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh police station against four male compatriots who tried to kidnap her, while she was strolling in the area at night. She added the men tried forcing her into a vehicle, but they ran away after she started screaming for help.
The complainant stressed the men normally kidnap Asian women, who are held in various flats to engage in prostitution. Securitymen have since circulated details of the suspect at checkpoints for their arrest.

Maid attempts suicide: A 26-year-old Ethiopian housemaid who tried in vain to end her life by consuming a poisonous substance has been admitted to a hospital, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Without going into details the daily added the housemaid was suffering from psychological problems.
A case of attempted suicide has been registered against her. However, police are still investigating the issue.

Computers stolen: Police are looking for unidentified burglars who allegedly broke into a girls school in Abdullah Al-Mubarak and stole five computers, reports Al-Rai daily.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprits.

Holy water … no booze!: Police have arrested two Asians for selling locally-manufactured booze. They were caught red-handed by police near the Islamic Society in Jahra, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. Some residents of the area said they thought the suspects were selling holy water and were shocked to learn the bottles contained booze.

Bootleggers caught: The Ahmadi police have arrested two Asians for selling whisky, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to reports police suspected the bootleggers because they looked nervous when a police patrol passed by their vehicle. Police ordered the men to pull over and a search of their car netted 65 bottles of whisky.
The booze and the suspects have been referred to the authorities.

Miraculous escape:  An Egyptian man had a miraculous escape when his car overturned on the Third Ring Road opposite the suburb of Al-Qadisiya, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Security sources said the Egyptian lost control of his car. Traffic was blocked for some time. However, the daily did not give details of injuries to the Egyptian.
