Bangladeshi perishes stealing ‘live’ power cable Bangladeshis caught selling porno CDs

KUWAIT CITY, June 15: A Bangladeshi man died while attempting to steal copper from an electric cable from a power transformer in Al-Nuwaiseeb that supplies power to the chalets in the area, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The Bangladeshi was allegedly electrocuted to death. When police were informed about the mishap they found cable cutting tools near the corpse.
The remains of the man have been referred to Forensics.

Officer admits ‘stealing’: he Ministry of Defence has referred a First Sergeant working at the ministry’s cooperative society to the ministry’s Legal Affairs Department, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to reports the official was suspended from work one month ago for alleged embezzlement of KD 108,000.
However, during interrogations he has admitted to ‘stealing’ only KD 40,000 from the society. However, his confession has shed light on the crime and the ministry now believes there may be accomplices.
Without going into details, the daily said interrogations are continuing.

Porn sold in Salhiya: Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department have arrested three Bangladeshis for selling porno CDs during a raid on hawkers in Salhiya, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
The suspects were caught red-handed while selling the forbidden material to a police agent.


Crackdown on vice: During a crackdown on vice and illegal residents the Ahmadi police are said to have arrested a number of hawkers for selling pirated CDs and locally-manufactured booze, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
During the crackdown police also raided several apartments in the area and arrested a number of prostitutes, pimps and ‘fun-seekers.’
All those arrested have been and referred them to authorities.
