Municipality intensifies ‘inspection campaigns’ Restaurants, cafes targeted

KUWAIT CITY, June 14, (KUNA): The Kuwait Municipality intensified inspection campaigns on restaurants and cafes crowded with customers watching World Cup matches which coincide with the summer holidays, Municipality’s Director General engineer Ahmad Al-Subeeh stated.
He told KUNA that these campaigns were conducted upon instructions of the Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs Dr. Fadhel Safar.
He added that this won’t affect the daily inspections by the health inspectors in the country’s six governorates.
The inspections are done round the clock, stressing that the municipality will cooperate with the security forces at the Ministry of Interior to arrest the unlicensed vendors who tend to be more active during this time.
He called on the public to cooperate with the authorities and avoid dealing with those vendors who lack the basic health requirements and sell expired goods.
