Three men arrested in kidnap, ‘rape’ of youth Filipina Maid jumps to death; Cell snatched from maid
KUWAIT CITY, June 10: Securitymen on Wednesday arrested three Kuwaitis, in their 20s, for kidnapping and molesting a compatriot in Kabad.
This came after the father of the victim filed a complaint at Ardiya Police Station against the three Kuwaitis who allegedly abducted his son and molested him in Kabad. The complainant told police his son knows his attackers, so he provided a detailed description of the suspects. Police immediately launched a manhunt for the suspects, leading to their arrest a few hours later. A case was registered and the suspects were referred to the authorities for questioning and other necessary legal action.
Maid jumps to death: A Filipina housemaid committed suicide Wednesday by jumping from the fifth floor of her sponsor’s house in Hawally.
Securitymen and paramedics were dispatched to the scene immediately after the Operations Room received information on the incident. However, the housemaid was already dead when they arrived at the location. The victim’s remains were referred to Forensics, while the securitymen started the investigations to determine the actual circumstances that prompted the housemaid to end her own life.
Kuwaiti dupes Kuwaiti: A Kuwaiti has lodged a complaint against a compatriot who allegedly duped him to the tune of KD 6,000.
According to the complainant, his compatriot encouraged him to partner with him in a lucrative business venture but he has to shell out KD12,000 for this purpose. Convinced that the investment is good, he gave KD 6,000 as initial capital to his compatriot to start the business. After a few days, he called the suspect to inquire about the progress of the venture, but the latter did not respond to his calls. He then went to the suspect’s apartment but his efforts went in vain.
He provided police with a detailed description of the suspect and copies of which were distributed to various security check points to ease the search procedures.
IIlegal call traders held: Jahra securitymen have arrested seven Asians for operating an illegal international call center in Qaser.
After receiving information on the illegal practices of the Asians, Director General of Jahra Security Directorate Brigadier Mohammad Tana formed a team of securitymen tasked to put the suspects under surveillance. When the team confirmed the information, they raided the illegal call center, resulting in the arrest of seven Asians and confiscation of various communication gadgets.
A case was registered and the Asians were referred to the concerned security department for prosecution.
Fight over car repair: A citizen in his 30s and an Arab expatriate sustained various injuries when they engaged in a fierce fight in Shuwaikh Industrial Area.
According to sources, the citizen had gone to one garage in the area to repair his car. He returned to the garage two weeks later, upon request by the mechanic, only to be told he has been tricked. The issue developed into an argument, and later escalated to exchange of blows.
Passersby are said to have placed a call to the Operations Room to report the episode, while securitymen and paramedics promptly arrived at the scene to maintain peace. Paramedics referred the two men, who had been badly injured in the fight, to the Sabah Hospital for treatment, and the case was registered.
Cell snatched from maid: An Asian housemaid, in the company of her sponsor, filed a case in Waha police station against a youth who slapped the maid in her face, snatched her mobile phone and sped-off in his car. The case has been registered for investigation to trail the thief.
Drunk Kuwaiti caught: A drunken Kuwaiti citizen in his 30s was taken into custody after the caretaker of a building in Hawalli placed a distress call to the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry and reported the citizen was trying to enter the building by force.
Based on the information, securitymen rushed to the scene and arrested the man. It became obvious he was heavily intoxicated, as he couldn’t control his actions. The officers also discovered the man was not residing in the building, and had reportedly gone there to visit his girlfriend. He was referred to the concerned authorities without delay.
Cash, laptop stolen: An official from a commercial company in Salhiya filed a case against unknown thieves who stole KD 500 and a laptop from the company.
According to the official, one of the workers had discovered the theft and notified the administration immediately. Criminal Evidences Men arrived at the scene and lifted fingerprints to trail the thieves. The case was registered for investigation.
Grocery raided: Thieves raided a grocery store and made away with KD 200 cash, plus prepaid cards worth KD 120 in Al-Riggae.
The Syrian caretaker of the grocery accompanied the Kuwaiti owner to the Andalous police station and reported the case, while Criminal Evidences Men went to the scene and lifted fingerprints to trail the thieves. The case was registered.
