European lures Kuwaiti into cash fraud

KUWAIT CITY, June 10: An European man, whose identity has not been disclosed, is said to have swindled a Kuwaiti man, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The suspect reportedly convinced the victim that he had 1 million euros and lured him to transfer into his account KD 230 to complete the formalities to transfer the money into the account of the winner.
The victim has filed a complaint with the Taima Police Station. He told the police the cheat was speaking in fluent Arabic.

Flesh-traders held
: Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department acting on information recently raided an apartment in Salmiya and arrested six Asian prostitutes and an Egyptian pimp and referred them to the authorities, reports Arrouiah daily.
The daily added one of the women was caught red-handed after she agreed to ‘spend time’ for money with a police agent.

Guard responds
: Two Kuwaiti youths and an Egyptian security guard employed by a commercial complex in Hawalli have been admitted to a hospital, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The trio was injured during a fight. It has been reported the security guard lost his temper when the Kuwaitis poked fun at him.
The guard then summoned his colleagues and a fight ensued. During the fight the Kuwaitis used sharp objects and batons.

Youth fails in fraud: Immigration officers at the Salmi border post have arrested a Kuwaiti youth for attempting to leave for Saudi Arabia using the passport of his brother, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
The daily added the youth looked confused when he submitted the passport for processing and the officer discovered the photo on the passport did not match the features of the youth.
The youth was detained and during interrogation he admitted to using his brother’s passport because he has a travel ban.
He also told police he was planning to attend the wedding ceremony of his relative.

Police nab illegals: The Farwaniya police have arrested 17 expatriates for violating residence laws, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to reports the sponsors of the arrested people had filed absconding reports at various police stations.
The arrested men have been referred to the authorities.
