Driver, friends caught making ‘merry’ with girlfriend ; sponsor away
KUWAIT CITY, June 10: Securitymen have arrested three Sri Lankans and a Filipina, in their 30s, for consuming alcohol in Abu Halifa recently.
While patrolling the area, the security operatives noticed the erratic movement of a vehicle, so they signaled for the driver to stop for inspection. When they approached the vehicle, the securitymen got suspicious as the driver and his other companions looked confused. They thoroughly searched the vehicle until they discovered two bottles of local liquor.
During interrogations, police found out the Sri Lankan works as a driver for a Kuwaiti who is currently out of the country. He and his companions were referred to the authorities for prosecution.
Syrian found dead: A Syrian, in his 30s, was found dead on a street in Hassawi Thursday.
The Operations Room at the Ministry of Interior deployed a team of paramedics and securitymen to the location after receiving a call that an unidentified man was found dead in the area. Preliminary investigations revealed the man was a Syrian, in his 30s, but the cause of death was not immediately known. His remains were referred to Forensics to determine the actual cause of death.
A case was registered and investigations are still going on as the security authorities suspect foul play in the Syrian’s death.
Iranian held with drugs: Mubarak Al-Kabeer securitymen have arrested an Iranian for consuming drugs with a packet of heroin in his possession.
Acting on information that an Iranian worker in a grocery shop in Qurain is consuming drugs, the security operatives raided the shop where they found a packet of heroin.
A case was registered and the Iranian was referred to the authorities for prosecution.
