KUWAIT CITY, June 9: Acting on information and armed with a search and arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecution, police recently raided an apartment in Salmiya and arrested an unidentified woman who was reported missing by her husband about a month ago, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to sources the woman was living with her lover. The ‘couple’ has been referred to the Rumaithiya Police Station.
Maid ‘punishes’ kids: Police have arrested an Indonesian housemaid for allegedly repeatedly beating three Kuwaiti children believed to be three, five and seven- year-olds when their mother was away, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to reports when the female sponsor filed a complaint with the Sabah Al-Salem the maid denied the allegation.
The sponsor then installed a hidden camera and saw the maid while punishing the children 15 minutes every day. She either made them stand against the wall with hands raised up or beat them in such a manner that there were no marks on their body.
Brothers in shoplifting: Police have arrested two brothers for shoplifting, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
It has been reported the brothers would put up a fake fight between them and then one of them would escape from the shop.
A senior salesman discovered the game, set a trap for them and caught them red-handed. They have been referred to the authorities.
Duo held with drugs: Police have arrested two people — an Egyptian and a Lebanese — for possessing and consuming drugs, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The addicts were caught while riding in a car in a suburb of Salwa. When police ordered them to pull over, the Egyptian allegedly threw out of the car window a sachet of heroin.
Police have also seized from the car drug consuming tools and referred the men to the authorities.
Company broken into: Police are looking for an unidentified thief who allegedly broke into 12 cars which were parked in front of the Al-Tadhamun Sports Club and stole valuables including cash, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department lifted fingerprints to identify the culprit.
Asian held with liquor: Securitymen arrested an Asian man for the possession of three grams of heroin and four bottles of locally brewed alcohol in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Tuesday.
While patrolling the area, the officers noticed the suspicious movement of the suspect who was walking along a major road late at night carrying a carton. They then stopped him for routine inspection, which led to the discovery of the forbidden items.
A case was registered and the suspect was referred to the authorities for the necessary legal action.
Kuwaiti cheated on Net: A Kuwaiti citizen filed a case in Jahra police station against an unknown person who cheated him of KD 230. Apparently, the person had managed to convince the Kuwaiti on the Internet to be his partner in a business that could yield millions of dinars. The case was registered for investigation.
Kuwaiti cheats Nepali woman: A Nepalese woman has filed a complaint against a Kuwaiti man who allegedly duped her and took KD230 from her.
The complainant told police the Kuwaiti had earlier promised to process certain transactions for her provided she pays him KD230. She immediately agreed as she needs to complete the transactions within the specified period, but the Kuwaiti suddenly disappeared. She tried contacting him several times but her efforts went in vain, so she decided to report the incident to police. A case was registered and investigations are ongoing to arrest the suspect.
‘Saudi’ cheats many traders: A Kuwaiti man, holding dual nationality (Kuwaiti and Saudi) is said to have cheated scores of traders in Shuwaikh and escaped to Saudi Arabia, reports Arrouiah daily.
According to available reports, the suspect purchased goods worth KD 200,000 on the strength of post dated cheques and left the country when he discovered the Kuwaiti authorities had discovered that he holds the citizenship of Saudi Arabia.
Illegal call-traders held: Police have arrested six Asians for stealing telephone lines and offering illegal overseas calls for a throwaway price, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
The daily quoting security sources said the Night Duty patrolmen saw a group of Asians gathered near a building and when the patrolmen drove in their direction they escaped in the building.
Police followed the men and discovered three apartments in the building were being used as illegal telecommunications centers.
Police have confiscated communication devices and a computer from the illegal service providers and referred them to the authorities.

Police are looking for the runaway maid. The daily added a travel ban has been imposed on the suspect.
