Bangladeshi in love abducts woman, warns husband to divorce her 28 prostitutes, pimps, clients held in Farwaniya flats raid
KUWAIT CITY, June 9: The Directorate General of Kuwait Fire the Services Department (KFSD) has urged travelers to switch off electrical gadgets, main electrical switchboard and close gas cylinders in their various houses before embarking on the summer vacation.
Deputy Director General for Firefighting and Human Resource Development Brigadier Yousef Al-Ansari made this call in a media chat with KUNA. He noted the country witnesses numerous fire accidents during the period due to carelessness by household members.
He affirmed that the department is striving hard to ensure safety in both lives and property. He stated the department is well prepared to face challenges of the summer season, whereas senior officials are currently reviewing plans to handle special cases with the employees.
He appealed to the public to use fire detectors and extinguishers, while training members of the families and domestic workers to handle fire incidents and rescue, in addition to monitoring the kids and electrical gadgets.
Asian abducts woman: Police are looking for a Bangladeshi man for kidnapping the wife of a compatriot and threatening him to kill her if he does not divorce her, reports Al-Rai daily.
However, the Al-Dar daily said the suspect did not threaten to kill her but only requested the man to divorce his wife saying he is in love with her.
Flesh-traders arrested: Acting on information and armed with a search and arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecution, police raided six apartments in Farwaniya and arrested 28 people, 17 of them prostitutes and others pimps and men who had gone to seek pleasure of flesh, reports Al-Rai daily.
The arrested people have been referred to the authorities.
2 held in shoplifting: Security guards at a cooperative society in Jahra seized two citizens for shoplifting.
The suspects are said to have aroused suspicion of the guards while they entered the cooperative society, so they decided to monitor them. The suspects were caught red-handed with items they stole worth KD 20. They were referred to the Jahra police station, and a case was registered against them.
Police seize heroin from 2 Asian drug traffickers : Anti-narcotics officers have arrested two Asians for trading in drugs in Bneid Al-Gar, with 122 grams of heroin and a weighing scale in their possession.
Acting on a tip-off, Director General of the Drug Control General Department (DCGD) Major General Ahmad Al-Khalifa instructed a team of anti-narcotics officers to put an Asian, who has allegedly been trafficking in drugs, under surveillance. After gathering enough evidence, the team sent an under cover agent to purchase two grams of heroin worth KD60 from the suspect, who agreed to deliver the drugs at an undisclosed location. He was arrested upon completion of the bogus transaction.
During interrogations, the suspect told police he has an accomplice — an electrician. The security officers then rushed to the suspect’s residence in Bneid Al-Gar where they found the other suspect, as well as 120 grams of heroin and a weighing scale. Both suspects admitted the crime and they were referred to the concerned security department for prosecution.
Woman assaults salesman: An Arab salesman at a mobile shop in Jahra filed a complaint Monday with police against a Kuwaiti woman, in her 20s, who allegedly hit him with a mobile phone when he refused to accept the phone she wanted to return a few days after purchasing it from the shop.
The complainant told police he had a heated argument with the woman as she insisted on returning the phone without any valid reason. When he refused to give in to the woman’s demand, the latter allegedly hit him with the mobile phone and fled from the shop.
A case was registered and police will summon the woman for questioning to verify the complaint.
