Some MPs often make such lame excuses to project a positive image in front of the voters
MP KHALID Al-TAHOUS allegedly walked out of the Parliament Tuesday in protest against holding the grilling of HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah behind closed doors. I find his justification for storming out of the session hall funny as he claimed the government wanted a closed-door grilling to conceal the facts.
The lawmaker’s argument was absurd because everybody knows there is no secret in Kuwait. With the advent of the Internet, details of any closed door discussion are published on various websites even before the end of the session. Therefore, Al-Tahous’ justification was illogical as he himself would have disclosed details of the closed-door session through his mobile phone.
Some MPs often make such lame excuses to project a positive image in front of the voters. Apparently, they are oblivious to the fact that most citizens are now fed up with the frivolous acts of their elected representatives. Kuwaitis have outrightly rejected the deteriorating political situation in the country. They have also started inquiring into the causes of this recurrent problem. Forgive us!
