Bangladeshis, Pakistani kidnap Indian for ransom
KUWAIT CITY, June 7: Police have arrested four people — three Bangladeshis and a Pakistani — for kidnapping a 20-year-old Indian and asking KD 500 ransom from his mother, reports Al-Qabas daily.
When the suspects demanded money to set the boy free, the mother called the police and the latter set a trap for the suspects and arrested the Pakistani while receiving money from the mother.
The Pakistani then guided police to an apartment in Salmiya where the three where holding the victim. The kidnappers have been referred to the authorities.
Parking lots hit: Police are looking for thieves for breaking into cars from the parking lots of government offices, reports Alam Alyawm.
The first incident was reported from the parking lot of the Al-Tahrir Complex when an unidentified thief stole a laptop computer from the car of a Kuwaiti man.
In another incident a thief broke into the car of a Kuwaiti woman inside the parking lot of the Ministries Complex and stole her handbag containing money, her ID and credit cards.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprits.
Story fabricated: An unidentified Egyptian man who was accused of molesting two children — a boy and a girl — has been absolved from the charge after a Forensic report showed the story had been fabricated by the victims’ aunt, reports Al-Anba daily.
When police interrogated the children, they said it was their aunt who had coaxed them into framing the Egyptian because he was allegedly in love with the children’s mother.
The daily added the Egyptian, however, will be charged with committing an indecent act with the mother and the aunt will be charged with disturbing police.
Car thieves held: Police have arrested two bedoun for stealing cars, dismantling them and selling parts, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The suspects were reportedly arrested while driving along the Arabian Gulf Street after they tried in vain to escape from police.
Police have seized from their car tools used in the trade.
