Two US women caught lifting lingerie; 17 prostitutes, 10 clients held Arsonists sought in Fahaheel fire
KUWAIT CITY, June 6: Police have arrested two American women for shoplifting, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. According to reports the women were caught by the CCTV camera stealing undergarments from a commercial complex in Al-Rai.
During initial interrogations the women denied the charges but when they were whisked away to a police station they admitted to the charge and offered to pay the cost of the stolen garments.
The offer was accepted and the issue was solved amicably.
‘Brothel’ raided: Acting on information and armed with a search and arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecution, securitymen from the Mubarak Al-Kabir Police Station recently raided an apartment in the area and arrested 27 people - 17 of them prostitutes and 10 men who had gone to seek pleasure most of them believed to be Arabs.
All the arrested have been referred to the authorities, reports Al-Rai daily.
Arsonists sought in Fahaheel fire: Police are looking for arsonists who allegedly torched five vehicles parked in an open ground in Fahaheel area.
Acting on information, securitymen and firefighters rushed to the scene and extinguished the fire. Sources say five buses and a half lorry were parked in the area.
Moreover, sources say, one of the firefighters, who was injured in the operation, was referred to Adan Hospital for treatment.
A case was registered.
In another development, fire engulfed the house of a Kuwaiti in Naseem, Jahra due to electric short circuit, causing injuries to five members of the family, including a child who sustained serious injuries.
Securitymen, paramedics and firefighters rushed to the location immediately after the Operations Room at the Ministry of Interior received information on the fire. Firemen doused the fire in record time but it caused injuries to five persons, including a child. Initial investigations revealed the main cause of fire was electric short circuit.
Media Coordinator at the Medical Emergency Department Abdul Aziz Bouhaimed disclosed the department dispatched nine ambulances to the area. He said the paramedics took the injured family members to Jahra Hospital.
In another incident, fire broke out inside a foodstuff shop in Farwaniya. Firemen doused the fire before it spread to the adjacent establishments. No casualties or injuries were reported.
A case was registered and investigations are underway to determine the actual cause of fire.
