Thief attacks Lebanese man on way to bank, robs KD 13,000

KUWAIT CITY, June 4: Police are looking for an unidentified thief who allegedly snatched a bag containing KD 13,000 from a Lebanese man who was on his way to deposit the money in a bank, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The incident took place in Nugra.
According to a complaint filed by the victim at the area police station, he withdrew the money from one bank branch and was on his way to deposit it into another bank branch when the suspect struck him. He added the suspect might have been following his movements because as soon as he stepped out of the car ‘something’ hit on the head and he fell to the ground.
He went on to say he was blanked for a moment and when he came to his senses he saw the suspect driving off on a motorbike with the money bag.
Meanwhile, the Hawalli Public Prosecutor has ordered the detention of an unidentified police sergeant and an Indian man to 21 days at the Central Prison pending investigations into the theft of detergent from the prison worth KD 20,000, reports Al-Anba.
It has been reported the sergeant has admitted to the charge and told interrogators he has been stealing detergent from the facility for the past seven months.
He added only 10 or 20 percent of the goods he delivered to the Prison Administration and the rest he sold to the Indian and pocketed the money.
