Drunkard dangles toddler from window in revenge against ex-wife
KUWAIT CITY, June 3: A drunk Kuwaiti man broke into his former wife’s house and threatened to kill their 3-year-old son by throwing him out of the window. The man perched the child on the window and held him at knifepoint.
Acting on information, securitymen, headed by Director of Jahra Security Directorate Brigadier Mohammad Tana, rushed to the scene and started negotiating with the man. Tana, on noticing that the Kuwaiti was enraged, tried to pacify him and gradually convinced him to leave the child. Once the child was taken to safety, securitymen arrested the drunkard and referred him to authorities.
Wanted youth nabbed: Police have arrested an unidentified Kuwaiti youth who was wanted by law in connection with many crimes, reports Al-Shahed daily. The daily added at the time of the arrest the man was under the influence of alcohol. According to reports the suspect was arrested for making stunts with his all-terrain vehicle (ATV) on a public road.
It has been reported when police ordered the youth to pull over he tried in vain to escape by colliding with the police vehicle. However, he was chased and arrested and taken to a police station.
It has also been reported he was driving a stolen ATV. He has been referred to the authorities.
Asian held in drug trade: An Asian man, whose identity has not been disclosed has been arrested by police for trafficking in heroin, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The daily quoting security sources said police acting on a tip-off raided the man’s apartment in Salmiya and seized from him 300 grams of heroin and a scale used to weigh the drugs.
During interrogation the suspect is said to have admitted to selling drugs on behalf of an unidentified person.
The daily added police will summon the man’s accomplices for interrogation.
Man run over in fight: Police are looking for a youth who ran over a person in front of his house in Waha area and escaped, reports Al-Rai daily.
Sources say both men had a quarrel before the incident. Paramedics rushed the victim to Jahra Hospital for treatment and a case has been registered against the suspect.
Thief takes 4 computers: Police are looking for a thief who broke into a private company and stole four computers, reports Al-Rai daily.
An official of the company filed a case at Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Police Station following which personnel from the Criminal Evidence Department lifted fingerprints from the scene, say sources, adding the thief entered the office using a duplicate key.
15 Khaitan expats held: Securitymen arrested 15 expatriates of various nationalities for their involvement in criminal and financial cases besides violating the residence law, reports Al-Dar daily.
The expatriates were caught in Khaitan area and were referred to authorities for legal action.
Falling wall hurts Asian: An Asian man, in his 30s, suffered from severe injuries when part of the wall of an under construction building in Hawally fell on him.
The Operations Room at the Ministry of Interior dispatched securitymen and medical emergency personnel to the location after receiving a call about the incident. The victim is now confined at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Amiri Hospital. A case was registered and investigations are ongoing to determine the actual circumstances leading to the incident.
