KUWAIT CITY, June 2: The Public Prosecution has issued an arrest warrant against a member of the ruling family for threatening to kill Dr Hilal Al-Sayer, the Minister of Health during a live telecast of a program, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
The daily did not give more details.
Drug overdose kills 5 Kuwaitis,one expatriate in month: report: Six people, incl-uding five Kuwaitis and an expatriate, died owing to drug-taking in Kuwait in May, according to official monthly statistics.
This is the latest drug-taking death statistics in the country, the Interior Ministry’s security media department said in a release on Wednesday.
It cautioned against the perils and risks of drugs as the “plague of age which causes serious harm to the society, mainly the young who are the real fortune at present and in the future”.
Therefore, it called for concerted efforts involving anti-drug squads and civil society organizations to fight the scourge of drugs.

Meanwhile, the remains of an unidentified Egyptian man who was found dead inside his room in Jahra has been referred to Forensics to identify the cause of death, reports Al-Dar daily. The death was discovered by the victim’s roommate.
Pickpockets ‘picked’: Po-lice have arrested six Arabs for picking pockets of visitors to the Hawalli, Farwaniya and the Capital Governorate labor departments, reports Al-Rai daily.
Acting on complaints filed by several victims, plainclothes police kept a watch for the suspects and caught one of the men red-handed.
During interrogation the man admitted to the charge and police discovered he entered the country on a visit visa sponsored by an unidentified company. The man later guided police to the other five men who entered the country in similar manner. He also said the main purpose of the visit was to pick pockets.
Police interrogations revealed the men have transferred into the account in their home countries more than KD 17,000 stolen from people.
Kuwaiti ‘Jihadist’: Lebanon is expected to hand over a Kuwaiti Jihadist, identified only as M.A.D. to Iraq according to an unidentified Jihad Internet website, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The site said the man was taken into custody by the Syrian police. He allegedly has a history of Jihad activity in Afghanistan, Bosnia and Somalia and had earlier been arrested in Kuwait and Somalia and now in Syria.
He was wanted by law in connection with attempting to blow up the Israeli Trade Center in Qatar.
It has also been reported the site has severely criticized a coordinator in Syria who is in charge of helping youths to enter Iraq.
He is also accused of treachery for helping to arrest the Kuwaiti.
