Bangladeshi detained
KUWAIT CITY, May 31: Police have detained for interrogation an unidentified Bangladeshi man who arrived at the Kuwait International Airport on the sponsorship of an unidentified Kuwaiti woman who works for the Ministry of Justice, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to reports the woman knows nothing about the visa. However, when she learned that the man had arrived into the country upon her sponsorship, she filed a case with the police.
During interrogation the man admitted to paying money to an unidentified compatriot to get the visa.
Police sources say the work permit was processed by a Citizen’s Service Office in Doha, Jahra. Police are looking for an employee at the office who might be involved in the scam.
Donation boxes hit: Police are looking for an unidentified person for stealing money from donation boxes which were placed in a mosque in Sulaibikhat, reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily did not give more details.
Drunkard attacks with axe: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti drunkard who had escaped from police after threatening to hit them with an axe, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to reports the drunkard was ordered to pull over for reckless driving. However, he refused to stop and continued to drive.
When police finally forced him to pull over, he pulled out an axe from the car and threatened to hit the police if they dared to come near him.
Securitymen surrounded the suspect and wrestled him to the ground, grabbed the axe from his hand and took him to the Farwaniya Police Station for interrogation.
Drunkard held after chase: Police have arrested an unidentified person for driving under the influence of alcohol, humiliating police and damaging state property, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to security sources, the drunkard in an attempt to escape allegedly made a U-turn with his vehicle and drove against the flow of traffic. However, he was chased and arrested by police.
When police detained the man in their vehicle, he reportedly broke the side glass and tried in vain to escape.
