Egyptians top crime ratings in Kuwait, Indians 3rd, Bangladeshis 4th
KUWAIT CITY, May 29: Statistics issued by the Interior Ministry and the Ministry of Justice showed that 4,893 crimes were committed by Egyptians in 2007 and 2008 while 3,602 crimes were committed by Bedouns, 2,473 by Indians, 2,091 by Bangladeshis, 1,925 by Syrians and 1,205 crimes by Saudis in the same period, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Thief stabs man in panic: Police arrested an Egyptian who allegedly stole some items and cash worth KD 10,000 from a cell phones shop in Jahra some time ago, reports Al-Anba daily.
When a relative of the shopowner saw the thief in Hawally, the latter perhaps panicked and stabbed the relative in his neck with a screwdriver. The victim’s screams attracted the attention of passersby and they caught the thief and handed him to police, say sources, adding the injured youth was referred to hospital.
Seized cars parts stolen: Securitymen arrested two Bedoun youngsters for stealing spare parts from vehicles impounded at the Capital governorate garage, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
The thieves were arrested in the act and they admitted to stealing spare parts from 24 cars.
Kuwaiti youth stabbed: Police are looking for a suspect who stabbed a Kuwaiti youth in front of Jahra Hospital, reports Al-Anba daily.
The youth was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit with four stab injuries and sources say police are checking the footage of CCTV cameras at the hospital to identify the culprit.
Drunkard flees police: Police are looking for a man for driving under the influence of alcohol and for escaping from police, reports Al-Rai daily.
The motorist reportedly crashed into a tree and on receiving information, policemen from Abdullah Al-Salem Police Station rushed to the scene and found the man high on alcohol.
Sources say policemen allowed the man to come to the police station in his friend’s car after he handed over his ID to them. But after waiting for quite some time, they realized that the man had escaped.
Guard steals 5 sheep: A Kuwaiti man in his 30s has lodged a complaint accusing a Bangladeshi guard of his farm in Kabad of running away with five sheep, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
Police are looking for the guard.
