Indian wanted by State Security arrested
KUWAIT CITY, May 23: Police arrested an Indian who was wanted by the State Security and referred him to authorities, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The Indian reportedly got nervous on seeing a police patrol in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and attempted to take cover in a building; however, he was pursued and seized.
Suicide attempted: A 33-year-old Sri Lankan woman who tried to commit suicide by slitting her wrist in her sponsor’s house in Mubarak Al-Kabeer area was admitted to the intensive care unit of a hospital, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. A case of attempted suicide was registered against her.
Vehicles ‘locked’: Farwaniya Traffic Police launched an intense campaign against traffic law violators in Al-Dajeej area and put wheel locks on more than 40 vehicles parked in no parking zones near various departments of the Ministry of Interior, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Two held-drunk: Police arrested a Kuwaiti couple for consuming alcohol, reports Al-Shahid daily.
A police patrol on routine duty in Hawalli saw a man dancing inside a car parked on the seashore and a girl clapping her hands.
Police smelt alcohol in the couple’s breath and the man was so drunk that he threatened patrol officers, saying a friend of his is a lance corporal in the Ministry of Defense and that he will harm them.
Liquor bags seized: Farwaniya police arrested three Bangladeshis for trafficking in local alcohol and recovered 35 polyethylene bags containing local brew from their possession, reports Alam Al-Yawm daily. The traffickers were traveling in a car when they were stopped by police.
