Compatriot friends ‘rape’ teen
KUWAIT CITY, May 17: A Kuwaiti man in his 40s filed a complaint at Firdous Police Station, saying his 17-year-old son was sexually assaulted by his two compatriot friends, aged 17 and 18, on Sunday. The complainant said the youths offered to drop his son at another friend’s house in the same area and then drove him to a desert and sexually assaulted him.
Securitymen collected the details of the suspects and will summon them for interrogation.
Asian held with liquor: Securitymen have arrested an Asian for the possession of 19 bottles of locally brewed alcohol ready for sale.
While on duty in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh recently, the securitymen asked an Asian to stop for inspection after noticing the suspicious movement of his vehicle. He presented valid identification documents but aroused the suspicion of police when he looked confused during the inspection. This prompted the securitymen to check his car thoroughly, leading to the discovery of 19 bottles of local alcohol ready for sale.
During interrogation, the Asian told police he was engaged in the local liquor trade. He was referred to the relevant authorities for the necessary legal action.
Co-op worker steals goods: An employee working for a cooperative society in Sabahiya area has been arrested for siphoning off damaged goods worth KD 250. The theft was discovered by employees of a private company which used to supply goods to the cooperative. The suspect handled the papers related to damaged goods and instead of returning the goods back to the company, he allegedly took them.
A case was registered against the employee and initially he denied any wrong doing, but later admitted the charges. He is currently in police custody.
Man found ‘drugged’: An unidentified man, clad in ‘disdasha’ (national dress), was found unconscious inside his car which was parked in Hawally Sunday.
Securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location immediately after receiving a call from a passerby, who saw the man. Upon arriving at the scene, the rescue officers discovered the man was under the influence of drugs. They also found equipment used for consuming drugs near the man, who was taken to Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital.
A case was registered and investigations will start as soon as the man’s condition stabilizes.
Man flees with drugs: A police patrol on routine duty in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh noticed a vehicle parked in front of a grocery and when an officer tried to talk to its Kuwaiti driver, he sped off. Patrol officers then chased the man and managed to arrest him after a 30-minute chase and on searching his vehicle, they found three fingers of hashish and five narcotic pills.
The Kuwaiti and his compatriot co-passenger were referred to authorities.
Iron thieves caught: An Egyptian guard of a building overpowered an Asian who was stealing iron objects from a building in Eqaila and called police. Securitymen rushed to the place and arrested the thief who admitted that his two other friends help him in the ‘trade.’ The Asian was duly referred to authorities.
Shop hit in revenge: An Arab expatriate in his 40s filed a case at the Fahaheel police station and reported that a thief broke into his spare parts shop and stole KD 300 cash, in addition to car parts valued at KD 500.
Following interrogation, the man registered a case against a person, whom he believes, was behind the crime.
He stressed the suspect had insisted he refund his money and threatened to deal with him, after the complainant refused the request.
