Couple marries at police station

KUWAIT CITY, May 14: In a strange incident, a Kuwaiti man and a compatriot woman were released after they agreed to marry inside Maidan Hawally Police Station, reports Al-Anba daily.
The man and the woman were arrested for having illicit relations and when they expressed their desire to marry, they were released and made to sign the marriage contract in front of a police officer.

Dual citizenship holder probed: The Public Prosecution has interrogated a dual citizenship holder and referred him to court for forging official documents, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The man’s dual nationality status was discovered when his fingerprints matched with that of a person accused in a criminal case and was known to belong to a Gulf country. His fingerprints also proved that he held Kuwaiti citizenship, say sources.

Egyptian attempts suicide:
An Egyptian expatriate who tried to    end his life by swallowing an unidentified substance was referred to the intensive care unit of Mubarak Hospital, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The hospital authorities reportedly informed Al-Nugra Police Station that an Egyptian man was admitted in a critical condition  and that he swallowed an unknown substance. A case of attempted suicide was registered against the Egyptian.

Man held for assaulting wife
: Taima police arrested a Kuwaiti man for assaulting and injuring his wife, reports Alam Al-Yawm daily.
The wife told police that her husband assaulted her as a result of which she suffered serious injuries and said she lost her hearing ability when he slapped on her ear. She provided a medical report to police to prove her claims. The husband was summoned and detained at police station. Sources say he will be referred to Public Prosecution.

Two sisters missing: Police are looking for two sisters who went to a secondary school in Sabahiya Thursday and failed to return back home after school, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to a security source, the distraught father of the girls filed a report at Sabahiya Police Station.

Maid’s suicide bid foiled: Mubarak Al-Kabeer policemen succeeded in preventing a maid from committing suicide, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The maid was reportedly threatening to commit suicide by stabbing herself with a knife and wasn’t allowing anyone come near her. Sources say the maid’s sponsor called police who rushed to the scene and convinced the woman to give up her plans. She was later referred to authorities.
