Step mother pushes her daughter into prostitution ‘Houthi’ sorcerer in custody

KUWAIT CITY, May 13: An Egyptian girl, 15, lodged a complaint at a police station accusing her stepmother of forcing her into prostitution, reports Al-Shahid daily.
The girl who came to the country on a visit visa told police that her step mother took her to an apartment of ill repute and urged her to visit the place every day. This aroused the girl’s suspicions and fears and she decided to file a complaint.
Sources say the stepmother and the girl’s father were summoned and questioned. The family will be deported in coordination with the Egyptian embassy in Kuwait, added a police source.

‘Houthi’ sorcerer in custody: A Ye-meni was referred to the State Security Department for possessing magic and sorcery tools, reports Al-Anba daily. The man is suspected to be a Houthi and is said to have infiltrated into the country from a neighboring state, said a source.

Daily, scribe to pay damages:
The Civil Bench of the Cassation Court asked Al-Watan Arabic daily and its columnist Fuad Al-Hasehem to pay a compensation of KD 15,000 to the Prime Minister of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Bin Jasim, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Bin Jasim had earlier filed a lawsuit against the newspaper and the columnist for publishing defamatory articles.

Burns caused in quarrel: Two Kuwaitis suffered burns when a fight broke out between them in front of the house of a lawmaker in Ardhiya area, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
It is not clear how the men caused burns to each other. However, acting on information, securitymen and paramedics rushed to the scene and referred both men to Farwaniya Hospital for treatment. A case was registered.

Kuwaiti caught drunk: Ahmadi patrols arrested a 50-year-old Kuwaiti man for consuming alcohol in a chalet and referred him to Al-Zour Police Station, reports Al-Nahar daily.
Patrols recovered a bottle of local brew from the Kuwaiti.

Man beaten in parking fight
: A Kuwaiti man battered an Egyptian expatriate due to a dispute over parking area in a market in Jahra, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.  The Egyptian suffered a deep cut on his head and had to be rushed to hospital, say sources, adding the Kuwaiti was referred to police station.

Indian held with liquor: Security officers from the General Security Department have arrested an Indian for the possession of 53 bottles of local alcohol ready for sale, reports Al-Nahar daily.
Acting on a tip-off, police carried out an intensive inspection campaign in Bneid Al-Gar. During the operation, the securitymen noticed a car parked suspiciously in a yard, so they inspected it thoroughly until they found 53 bottles of local alcohol. The suspect later told police that he sells local alcohol for KD 3 per bottle.
