Kuwaiti divorcee commits suicide with baby in arms
KUWAIT CITY, May 12: A young Kuwaiti divorcee ended her life by taking an overdose of drugs, reports Alam Al-Yawm daily.
It was a tragic scene when police found the woman dead with the baby in her arms. The corpse has since been referred to the Forensics, while the baby has been handed over to the mother’s family.
Drug traders held: Police officers arrested three expatriates for trafficking in drugs, reports Al-Rai daily.
The first suspect was arrested in the act during a buy-bust operation, as he sold two fingers of hashish worth KD 25 to a police agent with marked police money. The suspect provided police with information which led to arrest of the other two accomplices.
Armed with a search and arrest warrant, police raided the house of the two partners and seized three pieces of hashish and KD 7,000 cash. The contraband and the traffickers have since been referred to the concerned authority.
Drugs kill youth: A 35-year old Kuwaiti woman died after she took an overdose of drugs inside her home in Hawalli, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Police and Criminal Evidences Men rushed to the home after receiving a call from the 16-year old daughter of the victim. However, all efforts to revive the woman proved futile, and she was carried to the Forensics.
In an unrelated incident, a youth in his 20s died when he took an overdose of drugs. Police found drugs consuming tools beside the body, reports Al-Anba daily.
MoE site hacked: A Kuwaiti hacker who calls himself Mr. Jalta (Clot) has successfully intruded the website of the Ministry of Education, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The hacker left a picture and a message saying “I managed to manipulate the server, and I’ve stolen the examination for 2009/2010 academic year”. The Ministry has since shut down the site, and it is not known when the site will be re-opened.
Pakistani arrested: Officials from the Ahmadi Traffic Department apprehended a Pakistani man who presented the registration documents of a different car for testing, reports Al-Shahid daily.
According to sources, the Pakistani was driving a Japanese model car, and he presented the documents of another car. A case of forgery has been registered against him.
Doctor insulted: A doctor from the Firdous Polyclinic has lodged a complaint with police officers against an employee at the clinic who humiliated and assaulted him, reports Arrouiah daily.
The employee will be summoned for questioning.
Asians robbed: Securitymen arrested three persons for robbing Asians in Farwaniya, reports Al-Rai daily.
Sources said one of the victims called police and reported that three persons in a car had stolen his cell phone and wallet. Police combed the area and managed to apprehend the thieves who were traveling in a stolen car.
