Security guard tries to kill himself Arab expat held in multiple thefts
Securitymen from the Criminal Evidence Department in Hawally have arrested an Arab expatriate who has been involved in several theft cases.
In a press statement Wednesday, the department revealed the arrest happened after a Kuwaiti lodged a complaint against an unidentified person, who broke into a mobile phone shop and carted away 23 mobile phones worth KD680. Acting on the complaint, the securitymen intensified efforts to identify the culprit, who was arrested in less than 24 hours.
During interrogations, the suspect admitted the crime and told police that he has been involved in several theft cases. He later guided police to his apartment where they found 16 stolen mobile phones worth KD4,000. He also told police that he sold some of the stolen items in Hawally.
Police also discovered that the vehicles used in the theft cases were stolen. The suspect’s security records show he is wanted by law for other charges.
A case was registered and the suspect was referred to the concerned authorities for prosecution.

Security and paramedic personnel rushed to the scene after the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry was informed about the incident, and the man was carried to the Amiri Hospital for medical care.
Meanwhile, the man confirmed he tried to end his life because of psychological problems he was facing, and a case was registered against him.
Meanwhile, a female Arabic teacher registered a case against thieves who raided her apartment inside an accommodation for teachers in Mahboula and made away with KD 90 cash. Fingerprints were lifted from the apartment to facilitate arrest of the suspect.
