Egyptian ‘stabs’ compatriot in fight; cousin gets death threat 44 eve teasers held
KUWAIT CITY, May 2: Police have arrested an Egyptian man working for a health club for stabbing a compatriot several times during a fight, reports Al-Dar daily.
Without going into details of the incident the daily said the victim has been admitted to the intensive care unit of the Mubarak Al-Kabir Hospital. The suspect has been detained at a police station.
Cousin threatened: A Kuwaiti woman has filed a complaint with the police accusing her cousin of attempting to murder her over a family dispute, reports Al-Dar daily.
In her complaint the woman said the suspect broke into her home and tried to kill her. The cousin has been arrested and referred to the Public Prosecution.
Authority abused: The public relations officer of a sports club in Farwaniya has filed a complaint with the police accusing the secretary-general of the club of abusing his authority, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
According to the complainant the secretary-general has signed contracts with coaches and players without following legal procedures.
It has been reported the secretary-general has been appointed by the Public Authority for Youth and Sports following the dissolution of the board of directors and the suspect is allegedly planning to sign a contract with his brother (Egyptian) who is playing for an Egyptian club for a ‘handsome’ salary in addition to other benefits.
Safe stolen: Police are looking for unidentified burglars who broke into a company in Hawalli and escaped with the safe containing KD 1,800 and appliances worth KD 3,000, reports Al-Rai daily.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprits.
44 youths held: The Hawalli police have arrested 44 youths for hanging around commercial malls in Salmiya. Most of them were caught red-handed eve-teasing and harassing shoppers, reports Al-Rai daily. They have been referred to the authorities.
