Kuwaiti man kidnaps his daughter dining with mom 21 violating shops shut, 155 cited
KUWAIT CITY, May 2: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti man for kidnapping his daughter, reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily quoting security sources said the arrest followed a call by the girl’s mother who is separated from her husband.
It has been reported the daughter and mother were having snacks at a restaurant and the suspect barged into the restaurant, grabbed the daughter by the arm, took her to his car and escaped.
The same sources said at the time of the arrest the man was high on alcohol.
Shops Violation: Statistics issued by the Kuwait Municipality’s Hawalli branch show the Municipality’s Emergency Team during surprise inspection campaigns in Hawalli and Salmiya during April, 2010 have reportedly shut 21 shops and issued 155 citations for violating Municipality laws and for not abiding by hygiene rules and regulations, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
Corruption galore: The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor plans to suspend a number of senior officials from the Farwaniya Labor Department for helping relatives establish fake companies, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
The senior officials, including heads of sections, are expected to be suspended from work pending interrogation.
Bedoun nabbed: Police have arrested a bedoun man for attempting to steal parts of the destroyed Iraqi military vehicles and tanks, reports Arrouiah daily.
The bedoun was caught in the act while cutting the barrel of a tank using gas cutter.
During interrogation the man said he planned to sell the stolen parts in the Amghara scrap yard.
