Nearly KD 1.6 bln approved for MoH for fiscal 2010-11: official Over 50 pc of current hike okayed for chapter 5
KUWAIT CITY, May 2: A budget of nearly KD 1.6 billion has been approved for the Ministry of Health (MoH) for the current fiscal year 2010-2011, “which is nearly 200.86 million more compared to the last year,” Al-Qabas daily quoted Director of Financial Audit and Health Insurance at the ministry Mohammed Al-Azmi as saying.
“More than 50 percent of the current increment was approved for chapter 5 which includes miscellaneous expenses and other payments,” said Al-Azmi, adding chapter 5 budget is now KD 113.75 million, compared to KD 76.49 million last year.
In the first chapter which deals with salaries, an increment of KD 49.39 million has been granted; for the second chapter which involves goods and services, a KD 21.10 million increment has been approved; the third chapter involving transport and equipment received a KD 9.15 million increment and the fourth chapter involving constructional projects and maintenance received a KD 7.45 million raise.
Furthermore, the ministry earned KD 350 million revenue from the health insurance project which kicked off on Feb 28 this year, noted Al-Azmi.
