Over-65 technicians to stay retired: MoH
KUWAIT CITY, April 27: The Ministry of Health (MoH) has instructed officials not to renew the contracts of expatriate technicians who have reached the legal retirement age of 65 years, reports Awan daily. Expatriate doctors are exempted from this decision, provided they specialize in rare fields, undergo medical checkup and get permission from the Civil Service Commission (CSC).
Sources say MoH is keen on reducing the number of expatriate doctors who have crossed the legal retirement age and will form a committee to come out with the terms of renewal. The contracts of Kuwaiti doctors, however, will be renewed and they will be absorbed as consultants. “This is to benefit from the experience of Kuwaiti workforce,” stated sources.
