Kuwaiti man carries sword to get even with female hospital worker Lankan seeks help after drinking Chlorox in suicide bid
KUWAIT CITY, April 26: A 22-year-old Sri Lankan man attempted suicide by drinking Chlorox, a cleaning liquid, at the intersection of Abu Halifa Bridge and Al-Fahaheel Express Highway in front of passers-by Sunday evening.
The man reportedly asked for help after the liquid started showing effects. Acting on information, securitymen and paramedics rushed to the scene and referred the man to Adan Hospital.
Paramedics said “the expatriate had psychological problems and was facing pressure from his sponsor, which prompted him to take the extreme measure.”
Meanwhile, an Asian national, who drank a chemical substance he mistook as water in Shuaiba area, was rushed to Adan Hospital by paramedics after his colleagues notified the Operations Room.
Sword to settle scores: A Kuwaiti citizen rushed to the Jahra Hospital with a sword, accompanied by his children, to get even with a female worker at the hospital who allegedly insulted him.
Earlier, the man is said to have gone to the hospital to see a doctor when the female attendant told him the appointment was supposed to be after two weeks. However, the man insisted on seeing the doctor, which raised a quarrel between the two people, and then the citizen slapped the woman and left the hospital, only to return later with a sword and his children.
The family is said to have fled the scene after they noticed the heavy security presence. Detectives have since taken their details to register the case, while investigation is in progress to trail the man.
Kuwaiti hurt in fight: A Kuwaiti citizen in his 30s sustained injury to the ribs when he engaged in a fight with another person at a police station in the Hawalli governorate.
The injured man was referred to Mubarak Hospital for treatment.
Drunkard in theft bid: A drunken Kuwaiti man who tried to steal a compatriot’s car was caught red handed in Ardiya. The suspect is said to have sped off in his own car when he realized that owner of the car , and he ended up crashing into a police patrol car.
Subsequent to the accident, the officers discovered the man was heavily intoxicated, as he couldn’t even comprehend his action, so he was referred to the concerned authority for necessary action.
