Kuwaiti Porn-site maker held
KUWAIT CITY, April 23: Officials of the Electronic Crimes Department arrested a Kuwaiti software programmer for designing ‘immoral’ websites, reports Awan daily.
On receiving information about the suspect’s activities, the director of the department ordered his men to raid the suspect’s apartment in Hawalli area and officials found many such websites which were still being developed on the Kuwaiti’s computer. Reportedly, he developed such websites on the request of his clients.
During investigation, the Kuwaiti admitted the charge and was referred to authorities.
Asian man attacked: Detectives from Salmiya took into custody two Asians accused of attacking a compatriot, and causing him permanent physical damage to the eye. Security sources said the suspects attacked the victim following constant disagreements among them, and they fled the scene while the victim was being referred to the hospital. However, investigations led to their hideout, whereas detectives uncovered one of them has already been charged with attacking another person. They were both referred to the concerned authority for necessary action.
Bedouns’ theft bid foiled: The Jahra night duty patrols Thursday foiled an attempt of two bedoun thieves to steal water heaters and air-conditioning units from the Sayyed Khalaf Al-Naqeeb School in Al-Oyoun, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
According to security sources the suspects were caught red-handed by the police patrol while loading the stolen items in their vehicle.
The men have been referred to the authorities.
Watchman beaten, cash stolen: A Kuwaiti woman has filed a complaint with the Jahra police accusing three unidentified men of attacking and assaulting a watchman of her pen and stealing five heads of cattle and KD 75 from the watchman, reports Al-Qabas daily.
In her complaint the woman said when she arrived at the pen for routine inspection she was shocked to find the guard on the floor. His feet and hands were tied with a rope and there were injury marks on his body.
Police are looking for the suspects.
Gold, cash stolen: A Kuwaiti has filed a complaint with the police accusing an unidentified person of breaking into her home in Qairawan and stealing her gold and money, reports Al-Qabas daily.
Police have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprits.
Illegal Afghan man held: The Jahra police have arrested an Afghan man for entering the country illegally. He allegedly sneaked into the country from a neighboring state, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to reports the suspect was arrested when he tried in vain to escape at a checkpoint.
When asked to show his ID the man admitted to entering the country illegally.
Drunkard enters police station: A bedoun drunkard who walked into the Sulaibiya Police Station and requested securitymen to refer him to the Forensic department has been arrested, reports Al-Qabas daily.
He told police he had consumed excess locally-brewed alcohol. At first the police thought the man was insane. However, they later discovered he was infact drunk.
Youths held for car ‘break-ins’: Personnel from the Ahmadi Criminal Investigation Department have arrested a gang of four Kuwaiti youths who specialized in breaking into cars in the area, reports Arrouiah daily.
A security source said police acting on complaints from scores of citizens formed a night duty squad and caught the suspects red-handed while attempting to break into a car in the parking lot of a shopping mall.
During interrogation the youths have allegedly admitted to breaking into cars of shoppers in Ahmadi and Fahaheel.
Man fails to pay KD 5,000: The Hawalli police have arrested a Kuwaiti man for failing to pay KD 5,000 to an unidentified company, reports Alam Alyawm daily
According to a security source the suspect was arrested during a late hour in Maidan Hawalli.
He has been handed over to the concerned authorities.
