CSC revises salary scales of some Kuwaiti employees Increments range from KD 50 - KD 150
KUWAIT CITY, April 23: The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has revised the salary scales of Kuwaiti employees working in 38 government authorities and accordingly, employees with secondary school certificate or lesser education will receive an increment of KD 50, diploma holders will receive KD 100 rise and graduates and higher degree holders will receive an increment of KD 150, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
The decision was taken during a seven-hour meeting headed by Deputy Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Mohammed Al-Sabah and the recommendations have been forwarded to the Cabinet for endorsement, said a ministerial source.
Employees in nearly 172 categories will benefit and “the increments were given as these categories don’t usually attract Kuwaiti youths,” noted the source.
Employees in the Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGCA), labs of the Health Ministry, Ministry of Information, secretaries at the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) will receive the increments and allowances of employees of the Experts Department at the Justice Ministry and Kuwait Ports Authority will be doubled, he noted. The Cabinet is expected to approve the recommendations, which will cost the State around KD 200 million, during its meeting on April 25.
Earlier, Finance Minister Mustafa Al-Shamali confirmed plans to approve the proposed increments in accordance with the principles of equality and for the public good. “We will manage the issue by ensuring justice for all as indicated in the results of studies forwarded to the CSC Council,” he concluded.
