Srilankan kidnapped, raped

KUWAIT CITY, April 19: Police are looking for an unidentified person for kidnapping and raping a Sri Lankan woman, reports Arrouiah daily.
In her complaint to the police the victim said she was walking with her two friends and the suspect suddenly pulled over, bundled the victim in his car, drove her to an apartment and raped her.
He then drove her back to the same spot and escaped. The victim’s friends noted down the car plate number and informed police.

Mafia behind ‘flu’ scare: A scientific source disclosed that the Mafia of medicine traders was behind promoting the idea of the spread of swine flu which cost the state millions of dollars, reports Al-Shahed daily. The source confirmed that the traders promoted the idea of the disappearance of the disease after selling all quantities of H1N1 vaccines.
The source said some scientists are involved in generating the virus in a manner it dies by itself in a certain period.

‘Scope TV’ under probe: The Ministry of Information has referred the director of program aired by the Scope TV Satellite Channel, the channel’s manager and a female anchor to the Public Prosecution for not abiding by the Audio Visual Laws while interviewing the director of Al-Sour Satellite TV channel Mohammad Al-Juwaihel, reports Al-Qabas daily.
The daily did not give more details.

Youths pelt police with stones: Police have arrested 15 youths for pelting stones at police, reports Al-Dar daily.
This happened when police were dispatched to Taima in Jahra to arrest young motorists who were making stunts with their cars and endangering the lives of other motorists and pedestrians.
When police arrived some of the youths escaped with their cars and others who stayed behind showered the cops with stones.
The arrested youths have been referred to the authorities.

Asian held selling porn: Police have arrested a Bangladeshi man for selling pirated porno CDs, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The daily quoting security sources said police acting on information put the Bangladeshi under surveillance and caught him red-handed while selling CDs to people.
The man had allegedly set up ‘shop’ on an open ground in Murgab. Police have seized from him 1,700 CDs and referred him to the authorities.
