Egyptian holds police at gunpoint, flees film-style
KUWAIT CITY, April 19: An Egytpian man managed to run away with service revolver of director of unidentified security directorate, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The Egyptian was arrested for being a suspicious persons and during questioning, the Egyptian managed to snatch the revolver of the head of the director and threatened him and other police in his office to shoot them if they follow him, then he locked the door and ran away.
The director kept the matter confidential and formed a team for arresting the Egyptian.
‘Check passports before travel’: The Security Information Department at the Ministry of Interior has called on all citizens to check the validity of their passports before making travel plans, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
The department asked citizens with expired passports to refer to the General Department for Passports and Citizenship and noted that many citizens don’t bother about passport details until the last moment and “then the department has to rush.”
The Security Information Department said it launched a media campaign along with the General Department for Passports and Citizenship and is distributing brochures showing the legal procedures to renew passport or obtain a new one.
It also stressed on the need to keep passport safely at all times as it is an official and important document and “if misplaced, it can be misused and can damage the image and credibility of the country.
