Govt likely to okay general pay hike for citizens CSC to discuss proposed increment on Thursday
KUWAIT CITY, April 19: The government is likely to approve a general pay raise for all Kuwaiti workers, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting reliable sources.
Sources added the proposed increment, which will be discussed by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) next Thursday, ranges between KD 80 and 150. The annual allocation for the project is estimated at KD 300,000,000, which will cover holders of academic degree, while the lion’s share will be paid to institutions that have never received any increments.
In the meantime, the salary boost is expected to affect the social security budget, with which the government retains the annual shortage, sources explained.
