Chaos as Asian cricket fans fight

KUWAIT CITY, April 18, (KUNA): Director General of Al-Ahmadi Governorate Security Directorate Brigadier Abdelfattah Al-Ali said on Sunday that his security services managed to deal with a number of security incidents that took place in some areas of the governorates in the past few days.
Al-Ali said in a press statement that the security operations came to impose law and order to prevent crimes and deviant behaviors.
He noted that among those events was a brawl between fans of two Asian cricket teams which led to chaos and clashes between both sides.
He added that this incident led to obstruction to traffic.
He pointed out that the brawl was brought under control and a large number of crowd were arrested and a number of vehicles violating traffic rules and regulations were seized.
He added that the security authorities deal with this incident in a humane manner taking into account the circumstances of the fans where they have been released on bail.

Meanwhile, An unidentified person died in a tragic road accident at a roundabout in Jahra, reports Al-Rai daily. According to a security source the victim was driving a car. He allegedly lost control of the vehicle, hit the pavement and the vehicle overturned several times crushing the man’s head. The remains of the victim have been referred to Forensics. A security source said the victim was not carrying
any identification papers.
