US woman insults officer at airport
KUWAIT CITY, April 17: Securitymen at the Kuwait International Airport referred an American woman to Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Police Station for insulting a passport officer on her arrival at the airport, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The woman, who is Deputy Manager at a private educational academy in Kuwait, was high on alcohol during the episode.
Man wanted in abduction held: Sulaibiya securitymen have arrested a Kuwaiti man wanted by law for kidnapping a minor.
While on routine duty in Sulaibiya, the security officers noticed the suspicious behavior of the suspect, so they asked him to stop for routine identity check. When police checked his records, they found out he is wanted by law for kidnapping a minor and had earlier been sentenced to five years imprisonment. He was referred to the relevant authorities for prosecution.
Expat teen mugged in mall: A 17-year-old expatriate has lodged a complaint at Rumaithiya Police Station against a group of youths who forcibly took his mobile phone and some identification documents inside a shopping complex in Salmiya.
The complainant told police he was strolling around the complex when a group of youths ganged up on him, and then grabbed his mobile phone and identification documents. They fled from the scene immediately after the incident.
A case was registered and investigations are in progress to arrest the suspects.
Searching for mobile...: A young motorist in his 20s was referred to Jahra Hospital following a road accident in Taima, reports Al-Anba daily.
Reportedly, the youth was trying to search for his mobile phone while driving a Suburban. In the process, he crashed into a lamppost, mounted a pavement and rammed into a tree.
50 held in eve-teasing: Hawalli police launched a comprehensive campaign on the Restaurants Street in Salmiya and arrested 50 youngsters for disturbing passers-by and flirting with girls and women, reports Al-Rai daily.
Sixteen among them were drunk, said a police source, adding 20 cars were also impounded during the campaign.
Restaurant vehicles seized: Police impounded 51 cars and 30 motorcycles belonging to restaurants during a traffic campaign launched in the Capital governorate, reports Al-Rai daily.
A police source said some drivers and motorcyclists did not have driving licenses.
