KUWAIT CITY, April 17: A Kuwaiti youth tried to jump from the roof of his father’s house in Rabiya in an attempt to kill himself.
Firefighters, securitymen and paramedics rushed to the scene after the Operations Room received information about the suicide attempt. The rescuers came in the nick of time as they succeeded in preventing the Kuwaiti from jumping.
During interrogations with the father, he told police his son has a mental problem. He was rushed to Farwaniya Hospital.

Drugs seized: Riggae securitymen arrested a Kuwaiti, in his 30s, for the possession of four rolls of hashish hidden inside a box of cigarettes.
While on routine duty in the area, the securitymen noticed the erratic movement of a vehicle so they signaled for the driver to pull over. They later discovered that he was under the influence of alcohol. When they searched his vehicle, police found four rolls of hashish and he was referred to the authorities for prosecution.
Meanwhile, Customs officials at Salmi border arrested a GCC national, in his 30s, for the possession of six narcotic pills.
The officials noticed the confused state of the suspect when he approached a security checkpoint at the border. They searched his vehicle thoroughly until they found four narcotic pills inside his pocket. He was referred to the authorities for the necessary legal action.

Indians hurt in brawl: A 35-year-old Indian man suffered from injuries in his feet after engaging in a public brawl with another man in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh. He was referred to Farwaniya Hospital.
In another incident, a 27-year-old Indian got injuries in various parts of his body when a compatriot attacked him Saturday. He was taken to Farwaniya Hospital.
Investigations are ongoing to identify the actual circumstances which led to both incidents.

Man fires at house: A Kuwaiti fired at the house of a relative in Nahda Thursday night due to a family dispute.
Sources said the incident did not cause any injury, only damages to the house. The suspect was referred to the authorities for questioning. A case was registered and investigations are ongoing.

Wanted Kuwaiti held: Securitymen have arrested a Kuwaiti wanted by law for his involvement in a civil case.
Security sources disclosed the Kuwaiti caused a traffic accident as he was under the influence of alcohol. When police officers checked his record during interrogations regarding the accident, they discovered the Kuwaiti is wanted by law for his involvement in a civil case. He was then referred to the authorities for the necessary legal action.

Youth hurt in bus fall: A 17-year-old GCC national suffered from injuries in different parts of his body when he fell from a public bus in Sulaibiya recently.
Eyewitnesses revealed the victim had a heated argument, which escalated into a fistfight, with some youths inside the public bus until he fell from the bus. He was taken to Farwaniya Hospital.
A case was registered and investigations are underway to determine the actual circumstances leading to the accident. Initial investigations revealed the youths had previous disagreements.
