KOC Labor Union rejects draft bill ‘Privatization’ might have negative impact
KUWAIT CITY, April 10: The Labor Union in Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), laborers and other workers syndicates have outrightly rejected the privatization draft bill as it might have a negative impact on the rights of Kuwaitis, especially the workers, reports Al-Seyassah daily quoting secretary of the union Talal Al-Mijlad.
Al-Mijlad said the bill poses a grave threat to existing jobs and it might cause problems in the social, economic and security sectors. He contended that approval of the bill is tantamount to giving a golden opportunity to those who have been trying to manipulate the resources and facilities of the country.
Affirming his full support to a seminar the Labor Union of Petroleum and Petrochemical Industry will organize Sunday at the union’s building, Al-Mijlad urged the workers to attend the seminar
. He also called for popular and parliamentary participation to support Kuwait and its oil resources to ensure a bright future for the young generation.
